Summer Series: Marketing to Men by Dante

Level: Beginner

From as early as the 1950s, advertising agencies have known that if you want to put a big-ticket item in a family home, you need to advertise to the woman of the house.

And while times have certainly changed, some 75% of all advertising is still geared towards the greatest influencer of purchasing ever, the 25-39 year-old woman.

Yet when you’re trying to sell a product or a service to a man or a group of men, where do you start?

With advances in our understanding of neuroscience, psychology and consumer buying patterns, we’re starting to get a good idea of why people do the things they do – and choose to buy the things they do.

In this deep dive into the world of Marketing to Men, you will learn:

1. The history of marketing to men
2. Contemporary examples of male-targeted campaigns
3. The temptation toward stereotypes and mass-manipulation
4. Finding out who your male customers are and what they want
5. Forming campaigns around today’s male consumer

This workshop is brought to you by Business Station and AusIndustry under the Digital Solutions Program.
